Children's Choirs

Music for Threes (age 3 by Sept.1)
Director: Barbara Hopkins
Leader: Camille Rodgers

Meets on Wednesdays, 5:45 p.m. in the Chapel Building - Room 305C to explore music in their environment through meaningful experiences that relate to the young child's world. This group shares its music with parents on special occasions in their music room. This choir class particpates in the church's annual Parade of Choirs at the end of the school year.

Music for Fours (age 4)

Meets on Wednesdays, 5:45 p.m. in the Chapel Building - Room 309 to explore the range of musical pitches, steady rhythms, listening skills, and beginning group participation. This choir participates in the caroling and occasionally shares at the Family Fellowship Supper. They also particpate in the annual Parade of Choirs at the end of the school year.

Meets on Wednesdays, 5:45 p.m. in the Chapel Building - Room 311 to explore the range of musical pitches, steady rhythms, listening skills, and beginning group participation. This choir participates in the caroling and occasionally shares at the Family Fellowship Supper. They partipcate in the Parade of Choirs at the end of the school year.

Leaders: Donna Kerr, Jean Story, Kati Wakeland

Meets on Wednesdays, 5:45 p.m. in the Chapel Building - Room 508 to experience music in varied ways using large and small group activities, building confidence in the singing voice and playing instruments. This choir participates on the same program as the Young Musicians at Christmas in sharing their own celebration of the season. They also participate inthe anual Parade of Choirs at the end of the school year.

Young Musicians (grades 4 -6)

Leaders: Susan Land, Cliff Langham                                                                                                 

Meets on Wednesdays, 5:45 in the Chapel Building - Room 500 to learn songs for use in special services, to learn age appropriate music fundamentals, and to begin to sing in two-part harmony. This group participates in District and State Baptist Music Festivals and usually presents a musical during the year, usually at Christmas. They also participate in the annual Parade of Choirs at the end of the school year.
