First Baptist Church participates in and partners with many ministries to those in our state, our nation, and our world.  We believe we accomplish more for God's Kingdom through cooperative ministry with others.   Explore below the many ways we seek to spread the Good News of God's Kingdom to "the ends of the earth."

The Cooperative Program (CP)

We forward a portion of our undesignated offerings to the CP of the Southern Baptist Convention to be used in state and convention level ministries and missions.  As other Southern Baptist churches give to the CP, all of our resources are pooled together in such a way that we can accomplish much more together than we ever could separately.

The CP monies go to support the following:

• missions through both the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board
• work throughout Georgia through the Georgia Baptist Convention
• Southern Baptist Seminaries
• and other SBC endeavors.

We also collect supplemental offerings at Christmas (Lottie Moon) and Easter (Annie Armstrong) to further support International and North American missions.

Opperation Christmas Child

Every November, our church families put together gift boxes to send to underprivilaged children around the world through Samaritan's Purse's Opperation Christmas Child.  Find out more by visiting their website.

In 2008, our church collected 234 shoeboxes!  And we served as a relay center for other churches in the area.  All together, we collected a total of 1,070 shoeboxes!  Praise God for all the children who will receive a Christmas box full of goodies, toys, personal items, and school supplies and who will hear the Good News about Jesus this year!
